2023 Theme-Social Justice Literacy: This year's symposium theme, Social Justice Literacy, intends to give communities the skills to shape the environments they live in through narrative. How can we collectively impact the world by empowering silenced voices? We aim to discuss historic forms of resistance, explore illiteracy as a form of oppression, and offer awareness around social justice. This will provide opportunities to reclaim topics critically and creatively around the progression of suppressed stories written for and by marginalized identities. Join us in promoting social and environmental justice through the transformative power of literacy.
