"American Portraits" Music Faculty Recital
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Buchanan Center Recital Hall
About: Dr. Nicole Riner (flute) and Dr. Jiwon Han (piano) perform a UW faculty recital. This performance, entitled “American Portraits” is free and open to the public. Just as America itself weaves together so many diverse people and their cultures, this program explores works by an incredibly diverse array of American composers, from standard masterworks by Aaron Copland and Eldin Burton, to flultist-composers Katherine Hoover and Nicole Chamberlain, and a world premiere of a new solo work by rising star Reena Esmail.

FIRENZE Performance & Talkback

Location: University of Wyoming Engineering Education and Research Building Atrium
About: This original, evening-length choreographic work created by dance faculty Cat Kamrath Monson and featuring music by Florence + the Machine examines the female experience in mythology, history, and modernity through movement and storytelling. Set in the atrium of the Engineering Education & Research Building, FIRENZE immerses audiences in changing perspectives while viewing dance in non-traditional spaces. After the performance stay for a talkback with choreographer, Cat Kamrath Monson and Costume Designer, Erin Reed Carter.
