Looking to get involved in social justice? You’re in the right place!

We at the Shepard Symposium on Social Justice appreciate your interest in helping promote social justice research here at UW and beyond. Our organization is an all-volunteer group of people dedicated to just that mission. It is important to us that we respect your time as a volunteer and that you feel like it isn’t wasted. To that end, we have three different commitment options, which we created based on what we feel are the most common ways people are able to assist us in our mission. All of these are equally invaluable in terms of supporting social justice research and initiatives at UW, and we are so glad to have you! Get involved by filling out this short survey.

Commitment Options:
  • Planning Committee: Be a part of the big picture planning of the symposium by attending weekly 1 hour meetings and completing various tasks from marketing to logistics. This option is great for those looking to get involved in reviving social justice programming on campus!
  • Event Volunteer: Be added to an email list where we put out calls for day-of volunteers for Shepard Symposium events and at the symposium itself. This option is great for those who can’t commit to weekly meetings, but who want to be involved in tabling and event set up!
  • Promote and Support: Be added to an email list for updates and newsletters about Symposium events that you can share, promote, and engage with. If you want to be plugged in, support us through donations, and/or help through promotion, this is the spot for you!

UW Students, Faculty, Staff and Wyoming community members are welcome to join.
